HOURS FOR SHOOTING ARE: 9:OOam TO 6:OOpm
RANGE SAFETY IS RULE NUMBER ONE!
This list of rules is not all inclusive. ANY individual on the firing line can make ANY reasonable request of another for the sake of range safety. If there is disagreement, the request is to be granted, and then a member of the Board of Directors can be contacted for further action.
Members and guests must enter and leave the shooting range positions with unloaded guns, actions opened, and magazines out. When a shooter(s) is going down range to change targets, etc. actions must be opened and magazines out at the firing line. Anyone waiting at the shooting line cannot handle any guns.
RED RANGE FLAGS ARE PROVIDED TO INDICATE WHEN PEOPLE ARE DOWN RANGE!! One for the 100/200yd range, located in front of the left side of the 200yd firing line, one for the 300yd range, located to the left of the 200yd target line AND ONE AT THE BERM AT THE 100yd FIRING LINE. THESE FLAGS ARE TO BE USED AT ALL TIMES.
The first person to go downrange sets the flags, the last person back to the firing line puts them down.
YOU MUST CALL FOR A “CLEAR LINE” SO THAT ALL SHOOTERS KNOW YOU WANT TO GO DOWNRANGE. IT IS ONLY WHEN THE OTHER SHOOTERS RECOGNIZE YOUR REQUEST AND OPEN THEIR ACTIONS, UNLOAD, REMOVE MAGAZINES, AND PLACE THEIR GUNS ON THE BENCHES OR GROUND CAN YOU MOVE FORWARD OF THE FIRING LINE! Those shooters will step back away from their guns.
On the Rifle Ranges, there is only ONE LINE to fire from for EVERYONE. This firing line is clearly marked with position numbers in the ground.
All rifle and handgun shooting must be done where each shot is expected to be aimed at the target to hit the berm in the back of the target. NEVER shoot over the berm, or on the ground in front of the target either on the rifle ranges or handgun range. HIT THE BERM EVERYTIME!
A guest shooter can only shoot under your supervision only one time, then is required to join CRA. The member is totally responsible for their guest’s actions. Other guests in attendance under your supervision can only shoot one at a time on the firing line. Other guests will stand back from the firing line until it is their turn.
Members must lock the gate when entering and exiting the access road, unless there is an event being held that is open to the public.
Machine guns can be fired on the rifle ranges, but each member who fires a machine gun MUST NOT SHOOT AT THE REGULAR TARGET FRAMES mounted on our range target stands. You must either fire at the 200 yard steel gong or set up YOUR OWN target stand/frame in the 200 yard steel gong area.
If you want to shoot sub-machine guns at 100 yards, you MUST also set up your own target stand frame to the right side firing INTO the BERM.
Sub-caliber (nothing larger than 45 ACP) machine guns can be fired on the handgun range using your own target stands/frames.
We do not tolerate ground shooting to the target!
Only PAPER TARGETS are to be shot, the targets must be placed in front of the berm that the shooter is using; not placed in the middle of the range. No cans, glass, gas tanks, plastic containers, etc. are allowed to be shot at on the handgun or rifle ranges. No clay targets allowed on Association grounds. Steel gongs that may be provided at 200 and 300 yards and can be shot with normal ammunition.
On the Rifle Range, paper targets are to be affixed to the cardboard of Frames Only, Not To The Position Numbers. Use masking tape only. No staples on 200 yard and 300 yard frames.
SHOTGUNS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON THE HANDGUN RANGE! Only slugs may be fired on the rifle range. No shot is allowed except for SPECIAL MATCHES and then only STEEL SHOT may be used.
Shotguns can only be sighted in at the 100 yard berm, fired from the firing line.
ON THE HANDGUN RANGE: ONLY HANDGUNS, .22 Caliber RIMFIRE RIFLES AND ANY CENTERFIRE RIFLE OR CARBINE CHAMBERED IN A PISTOL CALIBER WILL BE ALLOWED!!
You must bring your own target stands to the pistol range. None will be provided.
You must pick up your brass, ammo boxes, used targets, and any other trash to bring home withyou.
Anyone found breaking the above rules, shooting at the port-a-john, brick building, or causing other unnecessary damage to the range(s) will forfeit their membership immediately and be sent a letter indicating that their future use of CRA property is trespassing enforceable by the local police.
Remember to always where Eye and Ear protection.
